2025 Honorees
Celebrating neighborhood leaders shaping their communities.
Rising Leaders are emerging changemakers who are actively shaping the future of their communities. They are connectors, problem-solvers, and advocates, often leading from within their neighborhoods to create more vibrant, resilient places to live.
Whether through grassroots organizing, creative solutions, or everyday acts of leadership, Rising Leaders are the ones others look to as catalysts for change.
Rising Leaders
KT White
KT White is a transformational leader committed to creating dignified solutions for unhoused neighbors. She played a pivotal role in opening the Westside New Day Center and co-founded the Indiana chapter of Nomad Alliance and Allies for Humanity. Her work brings together community partners to address housing and equity through action, compassion, and collaboration
Charlotte Crabtree
Charlotte Crabtree is a public health advocate working to reduce overdose deaths and end the stigma around substance use. She has trained over 300 people in naloxone administration and leads the MACRO-B initiative, which has reduced overdose deaths in Black communities by nearly 27%. Her work is saving lives and creating a more informed, compassionate community.
Matt Impink
Matt Impink is a strategic policy & program leader. He leads the Fletcher Place Neighborhood Association with energy and vision. Matt launched a public community space, advanced street safety through tactical urbanism, and fostered deeper resident engagement. Known for his warmth and accessibility, Matt is a trusted leader and neighbor committed to community-driven change.
Greatriarchs
Inspired by the Harrison Center’s concept of the “Greatriarch”—a neighbor who embodies the history, heart, and spirit of their community—INRC honors three Greatriarchs each year during Neighbor Power Indy.
Greatriarchs are the mentors, steady presences, storytellers, and caregivers in our neighborhoods. They are the ones who’ve quietly nurtured generations of connection, belonging, and love.
Tim Kimbrough
Tim Kimbrough has dedicated 25 years to coaching and leading Frederick Douglass Little League, the oldest predominantly African American Little League in the U.S. His mentorship has impacted generations of youth across Martindale-Brightwood and the Far Westside. Beyond sports, Tim provides transportation, support, and guidance to families throughout the community.
Pastor Thomas E. Griffith
Pastor Griffith leads Zion Tabernacle Church, which celebrated its centennial in 2025. Under his leadership, the church operates a food pantry, hosts a free annual Community Day, and organizes events for neighborhood families. His unwavering commitment reflects a life of service and deep care for community well-being.
Steve Gudorf
Steve Gudorf is a driving force behind the kitchen volunteer program and food recovery system at the MLK Center. His passion for reducing food waste and addressing hunger has made a lasting impact. Steve is known for his leadership, reliability, and ability to inspire others to join in service.
