Alumni Spotlight: Christen Peterson

Alumni Spotlight: Christen Peterson

Before I was an Ally, I was a college student working at a small before and after school program in the suburbs. It was my senior year and I had an idea of what I wanted to do in my career, but had no idea where to start! Public Allies Indianapolis helped me make lasting connections that positively affected my life personally and professional. Every job I have gotten since I was an Ally has been because I was able to use a Public Allies connection to get my foot in the door. The program also helped me figure out my strengths and focus on finding opportunities that highlighted what I was great at, while also working in a field that brings me great joy.

Christen served as an Ally from 2010-2012 at Girls Incorporated of Indainapolis. She earned her Associate’s degree in Business Administration from Ivy Tech Community College, her Bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and will be graduating from Western Governor’s University in September with a Master of Science in Management and Leadership. She is now serving INRC and our community in a different way by recently joining our INRC Board of Directors.
