Idamarie was raised in many parts of the east coast but calls Florida her home. With ancestry of Puerto Rican and Mexican descent, Idamarie is a fundamentally self-driven human rights activist. In 2012, Idamarie joined the Public Allies team as an Ally in pursuit of obtaining leadership tools. She was partnered with the Felege Hiywot Center where she supported capacity building of the organization. During her service, Idamarie developed a real love for teaching about healthy eating with Indianapolis Public Schools. Through her network with Public Allies, Idamarie was offered a position at INRC in 2013 where she served as office manager.

Since being employed at INRC, she has pursued the opportunity to go back to school and continue her education in Public Health. With the support of her co-workers and her Naptown network, Idamarie was able to make her final steps toward higher education, in support of her goal of being a community rights activist. Currently, Idamarie is a full time student at IUPUI working towards a Bachelors degree in Public Health – Community Health, while caring for her daughter full-time. She lives comfortably on the east side of Indianapolis with her daughter Julieta.
